I have a client who does Life Coaching and he is brand new to the industry. The information he has to help people is easily worth charging his clients $175 per hour. I mean the guy has a great future in helping people. He ran into a road block into his business recently. On one end he charges clients who can afford the services. But he also has clients that are not financially stable, so he gives the same services to his non-paying clients as he does his paying clients. What he found out was the non-paying clients were not taking the training serious, they were not participating in the exercises that would help them achieve their goals, and ultimately they fell by the waist side. 

 

My client could not understand why the clients who were getting the services for free, could not grasp that the services they were getting was way more worth than what he charges majority of his clients. I told him quite frankly, when you typically give something of high value away for free to people who are not used to operating outside their comfort zone, they tend to relapse back into their mediocre lifestyle. They are not able to see far enough into their future, that they have what it takes to become unusually successful, that comes from having a lack of vision for their life. I explained to my client, "Had you charged those clients $175 trust me they would have taken the services rendered a lot more serious." He says, "But Shaundi they can't afford my services and I really want to help these people." I told my client they can't afford not to invest into their personal development! 

 

My friends I am here to tell you If your clients are really serious about making massive changes in their lives, they will find a way to make that change. How many times when we were children we wanted things that we could not afford? Did most of us grow up with rich parents, rich cousins, rich aunties and uncles, or rich grand parents? NO, but that never stopped a kid who wanted that bicycle that cost  $100 or more. That never stopped teenagers from saving every single penny they could find or borrow the money  just so they can buy that prom dress and go to their Junior Prom.

 

In 2007 I was making $27,000 per year and a college education was not going to increase my salary that much. But a friend of mine told me about a multi-millionaire who was teaching normal people like you and I how to become financially free. I did not have the money to attend this seminar that trainer was hosting, but I knew if I did not have my butt  at that event to gain these skills, I was going to remain broke and miserable!!! So I asked over 130 people who I knew that could let me borrow a minimum of $10. It took me about a month to get the money, but I had borrowed $1,300 to see Dani Johnson live in Seattle, WA. Three years later my salary went from $27K per year to $124K per year. So when people tell you they do not have the money to invest into your services, that's B.S. You want your clients to do something they never did in order to have the things in life they never had!!! Unless you are operating a non-profit organization you need to hold your clients accountable for their own success and stop giving away free services.
